

- Smoked bacon, fried until slightly crisp, then cut into small pieces
- Fresh oysters, breaded and fried
- salt and freshly ground pepper
- chopped parsley
- 1 t flour
Mix the ingredients and sprinkle with the flour. Use as a filling for
three-egg omelets.
This dish is said to have been created during the
California Gold Rush in Placerville, then known as Hangtown because of frequent hangings.
According to legend, a miner who had just struck it rich produced a large
gold nugget and asked for the best meal that money could buy.
